AMETS BOOSTS PRODUCTION CAPABILITIES WITH INVESTMENT IN ADVANCED PRECISION MACHINING CENTER

Amets, a specialist in the machining of precision tools and equipment, is entering the second half of 2025 with a positive outlook, supported by a strong order book and an ongoing strategy of investing in advanced manufacturing technologies.

With over 40 years of experience and now led by CEO Alazne Aldaiturriaga, representing the second generation in the company, Amets has announced the acquisition of a new 5-axis, 3-meter multifunction machining center. The investment, estimated at around half a million euros, will allow the company to machine up to 90% of each part in a single setup, significantly reducing production time and minimizing errors caused by repositioning or machine changes.

This new equipment forms part of a long-term machinery renewal policy that ensures the company remains competitive and meets the demanding requirements of high-tech industrial sectors. Amets serves key industries such as energy, oil & gas, mining, offshore, foundry, and automotive, manufacturing short and medium series as well as one-off parts, mainly in steel and stainless steel.

The company works primarily with multinational clients operating in the Aiala Valley and the Basque Autonomous Community. This close proximity and strong performance have enabled Amets to become part of these clients’ central purchasing systems, providing components not only for local plants but also for others within the same industrial groups.

Production includes spare parts and new components for production lines, parts for mill motors, mining material extractors, tooling for the automotive industry, and complex components for specialized foundries. Amets also collaborates with technology centers in developing prototypes linked to green hydrogen production, underlining its commitment to innovation and energy transition.
