FACTOR DRIVES SMART MANUFACTURING WITH THE MAASAI PROJECT PILOT

Factor Ingeniería y Decoletaje SL is leading the pilot 1 of the European MaaSAI project, focused on developing a new Manufacturing-as-a-Service (MaaS) model based on artificial intelligence, IoT, and collaborative cloud networks.

Within this framework, FACTOR is advancing a pioneering methodology that enables the provision of metal parts manufacturing as a service. The system integrates AI-powered autonomous agents, an IoT sensor network, and a Cloud MaaS Marketplace (CMM) to optimize processes, accelerate decision-making, and increase production flexibility.

The initiative addresses key challenges in the machining sector: high operating costs, scalability issues, and limited access to predictive maintenance technologies and process control tools. MaaSAI proposes solutions such as real-time IoT-based monitoring cells, advanced analytics to assess Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), and intelligent agents that optimize planning and resource allocation between main factories and subcontractors.

The pilot led by FACTOR is built around creating a collaborative and secure cloud ecosystem that enhances operational efficiency and sustainability. Expected outcomes include a significant reduction in costs, improved real-time monitoring, greater production scalability, and smarter decision-making backed by reliable data.
